New Order have announced a new live album and concert film, coming out later this year. ‘Education Entertainment Recreation’ is a live album of the Blue Monday band, recorded at London’s Alexandra Palace on November 9th 2018. The 22 song set includes all the classic New Order tracks – Blue Monday, Regret, Crystal and Love Vigilantes. The two hour set also included a number of covers of Joy Division including Atmosphere and Love Will Tear Us Apart.
The renowned 80’s band will be releasing their live album on May 7th 2021 in multiple formats including: 2 CD audio, 2 CD audio plus the concert film on Blu Ray or as 3 vinyls. There will also be a limited edition box set containing all 3 formats and an extra book and art prints too. This is available for pre -order here.
New Order have shared announcements for a Manchester homecoming show in September 2021. In Manchester’s Heaton Park, this will be the bands first show in their hometown in over four years! The band, who will be supported on the day by Hot Chip and Working Men’s Club, will play at the outdoor venue, telling NME it will be a ‘defining moment in their illustrious career’. The band stated “We promise to bring a celebration like no other to Heaton Park in 2021, and we can’t wait to see everyone come together for a night we’ll never forget.” Hot Chip added to the excitement in an Instagram post, stating ‘it’s gonna be mega!’
