Biffy Clyro starterd the new year with a bang, playing their new song ‘On A Bang’ at a New Years Concert on Thursday night.
The Scottish rockers were headlining Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Concert In The Gardens on Thursday night (31st December), their first gig in over a year, when they pulled out the new song, which you can check out below:
Biffy Clyro have been pretty quiet last year, having said they were taking a break from touring in 2015 to work on their seventh album, a follow up to 2013’s ‘Opposites’. From the sounds of ‘On A Bang’ the new album promises to be reminiscent of Clyro’s heavier, earlier albums.
If an interview with DIY in December is anything to go by then heavier certainly seems to be the case, as Simon Neil told DIY: “My main aim of this record is that I want to make a record that sounds like Deafheaven meets Tears for Fears meets Death Grips,” and that “I don’t know if we’ll get anywhere near it, but that’s the three touchstones of songwriting and sonic architecture that I want us to try and go for.”
