In October, UK indie-rock band Arctic Monkeys announced that they would be releasing a new live album, recorded at the Royal Albert Hall in 2018. Due for release tomorrow, 4th December, the album will feature a number of their biggest hits including ‘505’ and ‘Arabella’ which have both been shared early, the latter arriving to streaming services yesterday.
Titled ‘Live at the Royal Albert Hall’, the album’s proceeds will be donated to charity, going to War Child UK. This is a continuation of Arctic Monkeys’ donations, as the proceeds from the show itself were also given to the charity.
Upon announcing the release, the band wrote a post on Instagram to discuss the show and the charity, saying, “All the proceeds from that memorable night were donated to @warchilduk in support of the vital work they do protecting, educating and rehabilitating children who have experienced the trauma of conflict and the horror of war. The situation that was bad in 2018 is now desperate and those children and their families need our help more than ever.”
The album was originally recorded during the Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino Tour, and yesterday ‘Arabella’ was shared with fans as a taster of the full record, coming tomorrow. The song is executed perfectly and bears a striking resemblance to the studio recording from 2013 album ‘AM’.
