Last night, on Sunday 8th November, MTV held their annual EMAs virtually due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. There were performances from Doja Cat, 24k Golden, and Madison Beer, as well the UK’s own Yungblud, who played two singles from his upcoming album ‘Weird’.
For those who missed the show, the video is available now on the EMA YouTube channel, and has already brought in 33,000 views. For the first song, ‘Cotton Candy’, Yungblud flew over the stage at London’s Roundhouse dressed as Cupid, and proceeded to sing while floating across the stage. Transitioning into the second song ‘Strawberry Lipstick’, the artist joined his band on the ground to play a rock number in contrast to his introductory pop track.
Not only did he give this captivating show, but Yungblud was also awarded the prize for Best Push. Other wins included Little Mix for Best Pop Artist, Coldplay for Best Rock Band, and David Guetta for Best Electronic Artist, while BTS took home the awards for Best Song, Best Group, Biggest Fans, and Best Virtual Live.
Elated at his win, Yungblud posted to his Twitter to celebrate with fans, saying: “**WE** won a fookin ema!!! this is about us, always will be. i love u all with every part of me. thank u so much to every single one of you that voted everyday. rock n roll ain’t dead … it’s very much alive and ready to smash the fuckin house up!”

Due 4th December, the new album from the singer was delayed slightly, but will make it to release soon. Titled ‘Weird’, the record is his sophomore LP after 2018’s ’21st Century Liability’. Yungblud will tour next year in autumn, as well as holding a virtual tour this December.
