We can expect to hear some new music from Easy Life next week. Planned for arrival on October 21st, the impending release will follow Easy Life’s recent two-track single who gives a f***? Premiering back in July, who gives a f***? contains the two songs Pop-Tarts and Nightmares.
Easy Life announced the news of new material via social media on October 17th. Taking to Instagram, the band captioned the post: “new easy life music on Wednesday”. The post elicited many joyous reactions from Easy Life’s ever-growing fanbase, receiving over 22,000 likes and 284 comments. One fan wrote, “hopefully the album is next!”
Over the past few months, Easy Life shared some sonic Easter eggs via Petty Crime and Peanut Butter from the see you later maybe never demo. They also shared Junk Food, the seven-track mixtape with the tracks 7 Magpies and Dead Celebrities, the intermittent releases amping up fans’ high enthusiasm for Easy Life’s debut album.
Last month, Easy Life treated fans with a live performance of Nightmares. Easy Life imitated the original music video for Nightmares by playing live from an operating theatre.
The performance was directed by Tommy Davis and premiered on Sunday Brunch via Channel 4 on September 29th. Easy Life shared the music video with its 118,000 subscribers on YouTube. Receiving over 35,000 views, the performance of Nightmares can be watched in full here.
Back in February, Easy Life took home the award for Best New British Act at the NME Awards 2020 for their mixtape Junk Food. NME said of the indie-jazz quintet: “There’s little to prevent Easy Life from becoming Britain’s next big band, from transcending cult word-of-mouth status to become a genuine phenomenon. They’ve got the tunes, the killer live show, and a welcoming sense of community.”

Easy Life will hit the road in April 2021, where they will play a few gigs across the UK. Easy Life will play shows in both Edinburgh and London.
Easy Life has released 3 mixtapes so far, Creature Habits (2018), Spaceships (2019), and of course, Junk Food. Easy Life was set to perform at the Live At Leeds music festival this year. Live At Leeds was supposed to unfold next month on Saturday, November 28th.
Unfortunately, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Live At Leeds confirmed its cancellation on September 23rd. In a post to Instagram, Live At Leeds wrote: “it may not come as a great surprise, but it will not be possible to go ahead with Live At Leeds 2020 as planned.”
Easy Life was formed in Leicester in 2017. The alternative band consists of Murray Matravers, Oliver Cassidy, Sam Hewitt, Lewis Alexander Berry and Jordan Birtles. Easy Life is made up of talented multi-instrumentalists, each member jumping between synthesisers, trumpets, percussion, guitar, and vocals.
