New Order has dropped a fresh remix of their otherworldly song, Be A Rebel. Originally released on September 8th, Be A Rebel is a standalone single, marking half a decade since Music Complete.
Music Complete is the tenth studio album from the legacy group New Order. Premiering on September 25th 2015, for features songs like People on the High Lane, Restless and Tutti Frutti.
Renamed with the Renegade Spezial Edit title, the Be A Rebel remix burst onto streaming platforms today (October 14th). New Order also shared the remix with their 162,000 subscribers on YouTube, the post obtaining over 3,000 views already.
Be A Rebel was recently featured on a promotional video for Adidas, following their recent collaboration on nwrdrSPZL, a ‘time capsule’ range created between the band and fashion giants Adidas.
Inspired by the unique sound and aesthetic of New Order, the nwrdrSPZL range features items such as a jacket garnered with eye-catching stripes and the New Order logo. More information about the nwrdrSPZL range can be found here.
New Order confirmed that they will issue a 12” digital bundle of more Be A Rebel remixes on November 13th. The digital bundle features Bernard’s Renegade Mix of the original track, as well as Stephen Morris’ T34 Mix and Bernard’s Renegade Instrumental Mix.
The Blue Monday hitmakers have also confirmed that they will return to the stage to play a one-off headline gig in 2021. Scheduled for November 6th, 2021, New Order will deliver a special one-off performance from the epic O2 Arena in London.
New Order will also embark on a co-headlining tour with Pet Shop Boys. The collaborative Union tour will travel around North America next year, set to commence in September 2021.
New Order partnered with Dig! of Warner Music Group on October 13th for their Instrumental YouTube series. During the episode, New Order divulged juicy details behind making Blue Monday, a song that arguably remains as one of the greatest hits of all time.
New Order took to social media yesterday to share news of their Dig! episode. Posting a short clip to Instagram on October 13th, the promotional video received over 15,000 views from excited fans.
Meanwhile, the legendary band are planning to release a brand new podcast on October 29th. Transmissions: The Definitive Story and is centred around the retelling of the band’s journey from spellbinding instrumentalists Joy Division to Electronica pioneers New Order.
Narrated by English actress Maxine Peake, Transmissions: The Definitive Story will trace the band’s story to their roots, covering until the release of Blue Monday, the 1983 hit that changed everything.
