Radiohead have spent the month of September in the studio working on their new album and are now in the closing phases of completion.
Speaking in an interview with Russia’s radio station guitarist Jonny Greenwood revealed how far they were with the new album, with a translation initially appearing on Reddit as “We have finished recording the new album, but we keep listening to it and change the views on the recorded material. We hope that soon we will have exactly finish it and start building plans for a next year tour”.
However Greenwood later took to Twitter to clarify the comments:
@coslive …to see if it's any good. And we HOPE to tour next year: no plans confirmed yet. Sorry for the over enthusiastic translator….:/

So the album’s not quite finished yet, but the band have recorded lot’s of material from September’s sessions and are in the process of shaping an album out of it.
This will be Radiohead’s ninth studio album after 2011’s The King of Limbs. Little has been confirmed by the band so the rumor mill has been hard at work, although all assumptions point to a release next year. Drummer Phil Selway has also suggested the possibility of outside collaborators for the first time, whilst Greenwood has said that ‘Lift’ could potentially make its way on to the album. The song has been played by the band live before and can be traced to as early as 1996. You can watch a performance of it below:
