It has been revealed, Ed Sheeran and TV star from ‘Orange is the New Black’ Ruby Rose will be hosting the European MTV awards this year in Milan on October 25th. This is certainly a drastic change in host and location compared to last years Nicki Minaj, who hosted in Belfast.
Close friend of Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift is leading the nominations with a record breaking nine awards such as Best Video, Best Female, Best Collaboration and more. Pop star Justin Bieber is also up for numerous awards, not as many as Swift but still a lot with six, awards such as: Best Male and Best Look.
As the MTV EMA official website says:
“It’s bound to be an explosive night at the Mediolanum Forum in Milan!”
It definitely promises to be an exciting night full of drama, shocks and excellent live performances; who can forget Ed Sheeran’s performance last year of his hit song ‘Thinking Out Loud':
Both Sheeran and Rose have expressed their excitement through social media at the chance to host the award ceremony, with Sheeran through Instagram:
