Taylor Swift is set to land three songs from her recent surprise album ‘folklore‘ in the Top 10 of the UK Singles Chart. The Official Charts have issued a prediction of this week’s single chart that the tracks “cardigan“, “the 1“, and “exile” will take three spots.

Last Friday, the world’s biggest pop star Taylor Swift did break the music scene once again with the surprise release of her eighth studio album ‘folklore‘. “Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen. And that thing is my 8th studio album, folklore,” Swift wrote on her social media.

Following 2019’s ‘Lover‘, the new record saw the 30-year-old took a complete left turn in her musical direction with stripped-down aesthetics influenced by folk and alternative music. The National’s Aaron Dessner is listed as the main producer of ‘folklore‘, alongside Swift’s frequent collaborator Jack Antonoff and Bon Iver as a guest appearance on the album. “cardigan” is selected to lead the album roll-out, with a music video directed by the singer herself.

Since the release, ‘folklore‘ received widespread rave reviews from music critics and fans, with an average score of 93 on Metacritic (at the time of writing). Pitchfork is the latest in the long list of reviewers; it gives the LP a solid 8, calling it “a sweater-weather record filled with cinematic love songs and rich fictional details“.

Apart from the critical acclaim, ‘folklore‘ has also achieved impressive commercial success. Since the drop, the album has sold more than 1.3 million copies globally, while the streaming platforms are dominated by the tracks, with 79.4 million streams on Spotify setting a new record by a female artist.

Regarding the UK, lead single “cardigan” is predicted to debut at number 4 on the Singles Chart. Meanwhile, opener “the 1” will land on number 5, as well as Bon Iver-assisted “exile” on number 7. If the prediction is precise, Swift will have 16 songs in total that reach the Top 10.

‘folklore‘ will surely earn the singer with another greatest achievement in her career. The album is available now.
