Dua Lipa has teamed up with J Balvin, Bad Bunny and Tainy to release the new bilingual track Un Día (One Day). The release was announced on their social media pages earlier this week. Speaking out the release in a post today Dua Lipa said in a caption; “I hope this song transports you to an island somewhere… even if only for a moment.”
She then thanked her counterparts by saying; “I was excited that you asked me to write and add to your story. I hope we painted the picture just how you had imagined in the first place. Thank you for having me as part of your vision.”
The release of the song is accompanied by a music video, staring Úrsula Corberó, from Netflix’s hit show Money Heist. It follows a woman experiencing the highs and lows of break up and learning to be alone again. The video is full of powerful visuals and is directed by Colombian creative Stillz.
This is Dua Lipa’s first song since the release of her album Future Nostalgia, in March. Similarly, this is the first song from J Balvin since his album Colores and the same for Tainy with NEON16 TAPE: THE KIDS THAT GREW UP ON REGGAETON, which were also released in March. For Bad Bunny, this song follows two surprise albums this year YHLQDLG and LAS QUE NO IBAN A SALIR.
Dua Lipa has appeared in the news a lot this week, following controversial tweets where she tweeted a picture of the Greater Albanian flag. She also appeared in the most recent episode of First We Feast’s popular YouTube show Hot Ones with host Sean Evans, where celebrities answer questions while eating spicy wings that increase in hotness as the interview progresses.
Un Día (One Day) is out now on all streaming platforms.
