It seems like the current Yungblud era is about to end. “It’s time to step out of the 21st century”, the 22-year-old posted on Twitter yesterday (July 6). “See you july 7th”, he’s saying in another tweet. What could that mean? Does that mean that new music is on its way? After all, Yungbluds debut album is called “21st Century Liability” so him announcing that it’s time to step out of it sure seems like we’re about to witness the beginning of a new era.
“see you july 7th. tell ya mates. goodnight till then. look after each other. i love you.”, the first teasing tweet reads, including two selfies, decorated with the Yungblud-classic black heart emoji, a strawberry emoji and a lipstick emoji. The followed-up tweet that talks about stepping out of the 21st century also includes two black heart emojis – with another strawberry emoji squeezed in-between. Said tweet includes a video of the singer wearing a Union Jack dress, setting a straight jacket on fire.
Oh, did we mention that last week the “Weird!”- singer has changed his profile picture on both, Twitter and Instagram, to a strawberry on a black background? Well, now you know. And there’s another interesting clue to the strawberries: Yesterday, people all around the world discovered posters with Yungblud on them, reading “suck on my strawberry lipstick”. Seems like the new Yungblud era is going to feature a lot of berries. However, we don’t know yet what exactly the Doncaster-born rockstar has planned for today. Some fans are thinking that a new album or single might be called “Strawberry lipstick”.

Whether it has to do with new music or something else, Dominic Harrison, as his real name is, might’ve been planning this for a while. Two years ago, in July 2018, he simply tweeted “strawberries.” It could be a coincidence, but with the creativity Yungblud has, some are suspecting that he’s been preparing whatever is coming for a long time. In an interview with NME last year, the singer opened the video by yelling “strawberries!”
So keep an eye out on Yungblud’s social media accounts today to find out what is going on with the mysterious strawberry-style.
