The Streets frontman Mike Skinner has announced the release of his new single “Falling Down,” which is to be the third track of his latest mixtape, None of Us are Getting Out of This Alive. It is now available for streaming on Spotify, so wrap your ears around that ASAP. The latest album first saw the light of day with initial single “I Wish You Loved You as Much as You Love Him,” followed by “Call My Phone Thinking I’m Doing Nothing Better.” The latter track is Skinner’s collaboration with Kevin Parker of Tame Impala fame (established in Perth, Western Australia, the hometown of this writer – big ups), while this latest track features Hak Baker, an East London artist who accompanies Skinner on a predominantly piano-based song whose title is explained in one important lyric: “Falling down is an accident, staying down is a choice.”
For anyone curious as to what they can expect from this latest release, a brief trip down memory lane takes listeners back to mid-April, where Tame Impala made the collaboration known in a tweet shared on his official Twitter account, @tameimpala. But, if you’re in need of a fresh dose of fresh-out-the-box newness, then there isn’t long to wait: The Streets’ new album will be brought into the world on July 10th, according to a recent NME article.
