British extreme metal band Carcass have announced their sixth studio album, Surgical Steel, is due for release later this year. This will be their first release since Swansong, which came out in 1996 through Earache Records.
The album will be released through Nuclear Blast, who posted a teaser on their Youtube channel just a few days ago. Check it out here:
Carcass reformed in 2007, after disbanding in 1995. Bassist/vocalist Jeff Walker said in an interview that Daniel Wilding of Trigger the Bloodshed would be drumming on the new album, following the departure of their drummer Ken Owen due to health problems. There hasn’t been an official confirmation of the tracklisting for the highly anticipated album, but these are some of the tracks that have been recorded during the Surgical Steel sessions:
“The Master Butcher’s Apron”
“Cadaver Pouch Conveyor System”
“Zochrot”
“A Congealed Clot of Blood”
“Livestock Marketplace”
