The Scottish born singer has released his first new music since his 2017 platinum selling album ‘What a Time to be Alive’. He has previously released two singles ‘Better Half of Me’ and ‘Now You’re Gone’ which were featured on the deluxe version of his album.
His new single is expected to be the first from his second album which he revealed in 2019 that he started working on. The song was recorded in lockdown and it echoes very similar themes to those in his breakthrough single ‘Leave a Light on’ which shot the singer to almost superstar levels of success back in 2017. I vividly remember the period of the year when you could not go anywhere without hearing the song it brought back memories of the time ‘Happy’ was everywhere.

To celebrate the release of his new single, Walker performed a ‘Zoom World Tour’ where he played in six countries in over 12 hours. This was in front of a small crowd of 30 fans who got to witness his powerful voice over the power of the internet. It’s funny to think that if you said that to someone even at the start of the year they’d laugh you and your ‘Zoom World Tour’ back to 2019.
Walker also celebrated the key workers of the NHS in a short song that he released onto his YouTube channel which, no doubt helped some of his key worker fans through what is undoubtedly a tough period for them. Listen to the song below;
With the release of Jack Garratt’s new album, Tom Walker has followed the trend in breaking the streak of not releasing anything, his being considerably smaller than Garratt’s four years. But maybe this is a sign of things to come; the sun’s coming out more, temperature is rising and new music is being released from people we haven’t heard from in a while. (Cue a rainstorm tomorrow).
