This is the latest in his series of listening parties that he conducts on Twitter, having already done their debut ‘Hills End’ earlier in the month. Other albums such as ‘Original Pirate Material’, ‘Unknown Pleasures’ and ‘Figure 8’ have been subject of the listening party as well.
Burgess started this at the start of lockdown in the UK and it has taken off considerably. From this he has also had to set up another webpage dedicated to just the listening parties. The engagement he has seen on Twitter when he does one is through the roof.

This comes after Burgess chose ‘Hills End’, the Australian bands debut album, to listen to earlier this month. It comes just before they release their third album ‘The Glow’ which is due out on July 10th. From this they have released three singles; ‘The Glow’, ‘Silver’ and ‘Life is a game of changing’.
In recent years, DMA’s have been a rising star in the UK with them being seen as a continuation of the tradition of indie bands making their name in the UK. This link with Australia has been strong as of late with bands such as Sticky Fingers and Ocean Alley also finding success overseas. Check out DMA’s new single below;
The listening parties make the lockdown a lot easier for a lot of people who are struggling with it. It makes the artists who are doing it interact with people they would not usually talk to even if it is over the internet. Also, it gives fans an insight into how they made their favourite albums and they often get to learn little bits of information they would not usually get to know.
The listening party for ‘For Now’ is due to take place this Saturday on Burgess’ Twitter, the listening party Twitter page and DMA’s Twitter page. So go there if you want to join in.
