In a special ‘At home’ episode of The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, the Radiohead frontman performed his brand new song “Plasticine Figures” for the first time. The video of Yorke’s performance was shot in a darkened room from his home.In his official Instagram page, Thom Yorke shared with fans a paper with the lyrics and the chords of his new song.
This is a performance of his first song release since his last album “Anima”. The album was one of the artist’s most critically acclaimed works. Reviewing the album, NME wrote: “This is an artfully produced fever dream of an album that, in its doominess, suggests we should continue to pay credence to the prophet Thom Yorke.”
In the meantime, Radiohead have been releasing archival footage of gigs across their career. The weekly releases will continue until either the of the current situation is eased or they run out of show footage to release.
The guitar player of the band, Ed O’Brien recently shared that the band were discussing a possible tour in 2021, before the coronavirus situation got serious.
The virus outbreak also affected Thom Yorke’s solo tour as he had to reschedule dates in the US and cancel dates in Mexico.
