Queen of PC music Charli XCX has announced the release of a new album tentatively titled ‘How I’m Feeling Now‘ set for May 15. She revealed the good news via the live streaming via Zoom last Monday with a thousand participants in the session. See the below video clip of the singer delivering the news.

“For me, staying positive goes hand in hand with being creative, and so that’s why I’ve decided that I’m going to use this isolation time to make a brand new album from scratch.” The 27-year-old singer/songwriter spoke of reaping the benefit of the social-distancing during the COVID-19 outbreak to create new music.
“The nature of this album is gonna be very indicative of the time, just because I’m only gonna be able to use the tools I have at my fingertips to create all music, all artwork, videos, and everything,” she continued. “In that sense, it’ll be very DIY.”
The “Boom Clap” hitmaker also promised that this upcoming project would allow people in the online world to collaborate with her. “I’m gonna keep the entire process super open so that anybody who wants to watch can.” Charli said that she would do this by posting demons, a cappellas, text conversations with the collaborators, together with a home video of the singer in the studio and a chat room with her fans via Zoom.

Charli set the release date of the album on May 15, which is, in her words, “soonish”. She also named the project with a working title ‘How I’m Feeling Now‘.
Back in last September, Charli released a feat-fest third record, ‘Charli‘. The album became the singer’s most critically-acclaimed work to date, earning numerous accolades as one of 2019’s best records from many music critics. She collaborated with many artists on the album with the likes of Troye Sivan (“1999” and “2099“), HAIM (“Warm“), Christine and the Queens (“Gone“), and Sky Ferreira (“Cross You Out“).
Apart from making new music, Charli also spent this quarantine period hosting a daily livestream with special guests via Instagram. The singer wanted to use this as a platform to “spark conversation, share insight, or simply entertain fans across the world who are currently practicing social distancing.” The session was joined by Christine and the Queens, Diplo, Rita Ora, Kim Petras, and Clairo.
Elsewhere, Charli has wiped out all her posts on Instagram as a trendy way for artists to start a new era. She has also posted the official site for the ‘How I’m Feeling Now‘ project, which is currently counting down for a proper launch in 37 days.
