Metal rockers Judas Priest have today announced that they plan to release their first studio album since 2008’s Nostradamus on 14th July.
This new release will be entitled Redeemer Of Souls and is expected to follow a similar pattern to the releases from years gone by. Scheduled for release in the UK via Columbia on 14th July, guitarist Glenn Tipton told fans not to expect wild experimentation as previously they had “come under fire for being too adventurous musically” claiming that “from start to finish, Redeemer of Souls is 18 songs of pure classic-Priest metal.”
The band, previously ranked by MTV as the second greatest Metal band of all-time, have been back in the studio to record what will be their first studio album in 6 years and will be their first album with guitarist Richie Faulkner, who in 2011 replaced founder member KK Downing. This album will mark 40 years since their debut album Rocka Rolla which led to the band being heralded as inspiration for the New Wave of British heavy metal bands in the late 1970s.
Fans will be hoping to hear more tracks along the lines of the timeless classic ‘You’ve Got Another Thing Coming‘ and the unforgettable ‘Breaking The Law‘ on this new album, though many will surely be pleased to simply add to their Judas Priest music collection.
