Coldplay have today announced that they will be undertaking an ‘intimate’ six date tour which will see them travel to the US, Europe and Japan before ending with a show at London’s Royal Albert Hall on July 1st.
The band have chosen to describe this list of tour dates as ‘intimate’ gigs despite the venues being far from small. Beginning in Cologne, Germany on April 25th, Coldplay will go on to perform in the US, France and Japan before returning home for their London finale. This mini-tour marks the release of their new album Ghost Stories which will be available to buy from May 19th.
This tour follows on from an event last month in which the band played the new album in full to a crowd of just 800 fans in Los Angeles. Tickets for the opening show in Cologne will be available on Saturday at 9am whilst the tickets for other shows will only be available to those already subscribed to the Coldplay mailing list.
Chris Martin may be forgiven for being keen to take to the road following his recent ‘conscious uncoupling’ with Gwyneth Paltrow and some time on the road may not be the worst idea for the frontman.
Here’s the list of tour dates and venues;
Cologne E-Werk, Germany (April 25)
New York Beacon Theatre, USA (May 5)
Los Angeles Royce Hall, USA (May 19)
Paris Casino de Paris, France (May 28)
Tokyo Dome City Hall, Japan (June 12)
London Royal Albert Hall, UK (July 1)
