The tour is in promotion of new album ‘A Celebration Of Endings’ which will be released on 15th May 2020. Produced by Rich Costey, lead singer Simon Neil spoke to NME, saying “The whole album represents us as a band and society as a whole. We need to learn from the good, the bad and the ugly. We can make a better world for everyone.”
When discussing the themes of the music, he said “It’s the first record where I’m looking outwards a little bit more. I’m normally very personal with what I write, but in this day and age it’s impossible to not be affected by these things that are constantly happening and infiltrating every aspect of all of our lives.”
Two singles have been released so far: lead single ‘Instant History’ and ‘End Of’, which premiered on 5th March on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show. ‘Instant History’ came out on 20th February and has over 1 million plays on both Spotify and the YouTube music video.
Biffy Clyro is made up of members Simon Neil (guitar and lead vocals), James Johnston (bass), and Ben Johnston (drums). The band has released numerous albums, with four reaching the top 5 in the UK Albums Chart and one album, ‘Opposites’, claiming number 1. Formed in 1995, they are currently signed to 14th Floor Records and have headlined many big UK Festivals including Reading & Leeds in 2013. Biffy Clyro have won four NME Awards and received nominations for two Brit Awards. Their hit song ‘Many of Horror” was covered by X Factor winner Matt Cardle in 2010, gaining it much success.
