David Cook, American Idol Season 7 winner, and Kris Allen, American Idol Season 8 winner, are taking their collaborative acoustic tour to Europe this April. Titled ‘Dave & Kris Go to Europe: Acoustic Tour 2020′, the tour begins at Cologne, Germany on April 11 and will land in the UK on April 17 with three shows starting at London, Manchester, and Glasgow. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster.
Both David Cook and Kris Allen are the winners from the highly popular singing competition American Idol. Cook was the contestant in the seventh season while Allen in the eighth, and both of them won the popular vote, making them the winners of the shows.
David Cook, 37, were signed to RCA Records after the crown and then released two major studio albums—David Cook (2008) and This Loud Morning (2011). Cook is a rock-oriented singer with a twist of a commercial rock sound. After parting from the major label, the singer has embarked on a new journey that allows him to explore more creativity with his musical talent. His latest offer is 2018’s Chromance, a six-track EP in which Cook experiments a brand new sonic territory into his music with electronic and synth sounds. Outside the music scene, Cook also debuted his Broadway endeavour, playing Charlie Prince in Kinky Boots, back in 2018.
Kris Allen, 34, beat LGBTQ icon Adam Lambert on American Season 8. Unlike Cook, Allen’s music leans towards folk and acoustic sounds with his easy-breezy vocal. Following the win, Allen released two major studio albums—Kris Allen (2009) and Thank You Camellia (2012)—with RCA Records. Then, the singer/songwriter independently dropped two more albums, 2014’s Horizons and 2016’s Letting You In. In 2019, Allen celebrated his 10 years in music by releasing 10, a cover collection of the reimagined versions of his own songs in an acoustic style, and going on tour in support of his celebration.
‘Dave & Kris Go to Europe: Acoustic Tour 2020′ is a follow-up of their current joint tour in America. United by their talents and experiences after American Idol, the two winners will surely deliver an intimate experience filled with incredible performance and jams for their fans.
