Lana Del Rey took to Instagram, announcing the release of a spoken word album. The untitled album will be released on January 4.
In her “video note”, the American singer/songwriter updated her fans about her first poetry collection Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass. She said that the book seemed to take longer time to “handbind” than she had expected; however, prior to the book launch, she promised to drop an album of spoken word.
“Hi guys, I just want to leave you a quick video note. My book, Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass, is taking a lot longer to handbind than I thought, and I just want to let you know that I’m gonna put up a spoken word album if you can call than on the fourth of January.” She continued that she wanted the album to be around “a dollar” because she loved “the idea that thoughts are meant to be shared, and they were priceless in some way.”
Half of the proceeds of this spoken word album will also benefit various Native American organisations around the United States. She also added that the album is how she wanted to “pay homage” to the country that she loved so much.
Earlier this year, Del Rey released her sixth studio album Norman Fucking Rockwell!. The album shot up to number 1 on UK Albums Chart, with the title track and “Doin’ Time” climbing to top 50 on the Singles Chart.

Tour includes five shows, kicking off at The O2, London on February 25, which is already sold out. Nevertheless, the tickets for the other four dates are in available but in low vacancy.
