An indie rock band from South Korea Hyukoh recently announced their latest world tour in 2020. The tour includes three major legs that cover three parts of the world starting from Asia, Europe, to the United States.
Formed in 2014, Hyokoh is a Korean phenomenal band rising to fame because of their unique sound and aesthetics, which completely depart from the world-conquering tunes of usual K-Pop by BLACKPINK, BTS, EXO, or Red Velvet. The four-piece indie rock band stands out with their lo-fi garage sound. So far, the band has released one studio album ’23’ in 2017 with hit singles ‘Tomboy’ and ‘Die Alone’, as well as three EPs—20 (2014), 22 (2015), 24: How to Find True Love and Happiness (2018). The songs in ’24’ are almost sung in English.
Apart from their acclaimed and popular music, Hyukoh also achieved many milestones throughout their careers. Their ’22’ EP was charted in the top ten of the Billboard World Albums Chart in 2015 thanks to the front man Oh Hyuk appeared in an immensely famous TV show Infinite Challenge in South Korea. Moreover, the band was one of three South Korean acts that were invited to perform at Coachella along with BLACKPINK and alternative rock band Jambinai. And back in 2018, the song ‘Citizen Kane’ from ’24: How to Find True Love and Happiness’ (2018) was featured in an Apple commercial to promote Animoji.
Their recently announced world tour is not their first attempt to go on the road. They have already embarked on a European tour for two times back in 2017 and 2019. For the UK, Hyukoh will be here again to perform on May 8th, 2020 at Roundhouse, London, which is the last show in the European leg.
