Rapman has collaborated with The Premier League to return with a special edition of his annual wrap up series, giving us a brief history of what is known as the greatest league in the world. Releasing just in time for the start of the 2019/20 season, Rapman wins the respect of football fans globally with this creative track.
Over this vocalised rap instrumental, Rapman summarises the leagues legacy. He takes us through the most iconic players, goals and moments to have taken place since its unveiling back in 1992. Along with dropping statistics and addressing the battle of the GOAT, he lets it be known who his personal favourite is. Rapman concludes the track with a positive message expressing the unity that football brings in the midst of escalated bigotry, “All different classes, all different races, no room for prejudice, no room for racists, no homophobics anti-abrasive, this is everybody’s game, rainbow laces.”
The minimal video sees Rapman perform in front of a plain backdrop, which alters to resemble the colours of the Premier League logo. Memorable football flashbacks are reeled off to accompany Rapman’s bars, including Kevin Keegan’s legendary ‘Love It’ rant, David Beckham’s 1996 halfway line goal and Sir Alex Ferguson’s plethora of trophy celebrations.

Rapman first hit the scene in 2014 after releasing his hard-hitting, three-part series, ‘Shiro’s Story.’ His ability to effortlessly tell a story using rhymes caught the attention of hip-hop superstar Jay-Z who signed him to his Roc Nation label in November 2018. Rapman declared that he has teamed up with global distributors, Paramount to release a movie spin-off of the hit series entitled ‘Blue Story.’ Adding to his list of talents, he recently directed the visuals to Krept & Konan’s controversial track ‘Ban Drill’ which led the rappers to debate the topic of the genre at the British parliament.
The Premier League is the most-watched sporting event in the globe, in an effort to keep innovating and generate appeal amongst the younger generation they’ve teamed up with arguably the best storyteller in the U.K. This shows the influence that the British hip-hop scene has on the mainstream. Hitting the official charts, obtaining Royal recognition and featuring on prime time television is all proof of the impact that this culture has.
