The Godfather of grime recruits Tory Lanes, Dappy and Kranium for his new single ‘My One.’ This comes after a string of U.K features from the Canadian rapper Tory Lanez this summer including ones with Dappy and Nafe Smallz. The single serves as a follow up to his big tune ‘Boasty’ featuring Stefflon Don, Sean Paul and Idris Elba, which peaked at #11 on the U.K Singles Chart.
Wiley has embraced a new sound recently, teasing various tracks through his Instagram account and we expect to see a new project from the East London native soon. This track is no different; the upbeat dance instrumental allows the Godfather to come with that summer heat, with Tory Lanez, Dappy and Kranium supplying their melodic vocals for this club banger.
At first glance, the visuals look to be shot somewhere abroad with the vegetation, scenery and architecture having an exotic feel. However, it’s filmed on the Alexandra and Ainsworth Estate in North West London and depicts the essence of a British summer where everything looks less grey. Four dancers in brightly coloured tracksuits set the pace for this buoyant track, providing endless positive energy in the form of dance.
Wiley set a milestone for British music last year when he was honoured an MBE for his services in music, the recognition he deserves for pioneering the genre of this generation. Speaking on his achievement Wiley said, “This could open up doors for me in terms of going back to teach, to help, because I don’t care about myself anymore, I care about others.”
