Hackney’s finest and London Grime aficionado Skepta has today revealed the video for his new single “Bullet From A Gun”. Set at Camden Town tube station the video shows Skepta rapping about life as the day passes him by and passengers get on and off the train. This is just the start of a big week for Skepta as his latest album “Ignorance Is Bliss” is for release this Friday.
The track “Bullet From A Gun” is the symbolic of half of Skepta’s new project, whilst his other debuted track “Greaze Mode” demonstates the other half of Skepta’s range. This is further explained in the press release “The tracks showcase two different sides of the new album: authentic, autobiographical and unwaveringly honest, “Bullet For A Gun” is produced by Skepta and Ragz Originale and is Skepta at his uncompromising best. Meanwhile “Greaze Mode”- produced by Skepta and featuring Nafe Smallz – is an undeniable party anthem, the intoxicated downtown to “Bullet From A Gun”s reflective, focused uptown and a further enticing glimpse of what fans can expect of Ignorance Is Bliss.”
Skepta’s management announced, via press release, the expected schedule for the album launch “Ignorance Is Bliss is set for release this coming Friday May 31st via Skepta’s own Boy Better Know label. It’s the follow up to his era and genre-defining, UK gold certified album Konnichiwa, which won the coveted Mercury Music Prize and saw Skepta picking up awards and collaborating around the world, including multiple BRIT Awards nominations. From early UK pioneer to global icon, Skepta’s influence is felt throughout contemporary culture”.
