Djrum – the alias of British DJ and producer, Felix Manuel – has shared his 2025 international tour dates in support of upcoming full-length album ‘Under Tangled Silence’. Having already kicked off March 8 in Madrid, the tour will see Manuel take on cities across the EU, UK, US and Canada. In addition to performances at clubs such as Paris’ Essaim, London’s Fabric, Edinburgh’s Sneaky Pete’s, Amsterdam’s CLUB RAUM, and New York’s Nowadays. The tour also features festival appearances at HORST Arts & Music, Nachti, Making Time, Primavera Sound, Waterworks, Dekmantel, and more.
‘Under Tangled Silence’ will be Manuel’s first studio LP release since 2018’s ‘Portrait with Firewood’. Although in the works since 2020, the UK producer owed his five-year hiatus to “a catastrophic hard-drive meltdown” in which much of his progress was lost. Now back on track, the upcoming record is set for launch April 25 via Houndstooth, a follow-up from 2024 EP ‘Meaning’s Edge’. Vinyl editions of the album (including a limited-supply Coke Bottle Green colour way) will also be available- ready for pre-order now.
Sharing with fans a taste of what’s to come, Djrum dropped the second single from the upcoming album on February 26, ‘Three Foxes Chasing Each Other’ – a masterful track of erratic rhythms, he weaves tribal toms with tuned percussion, crafting a dynamic soundscape that shimmers with melody. This succeeds Manuel’s first teaser ‘A Tune For Us’, released back in January. For this piece, he embraced restraint, letting elegant piano strides dance with delicately syncopated drum patterns, while the whispers of nature – birdsong and ambient echoes – breathed life into the sonic expanse. Both singles are available for streaming and digital purchase here.
In conversation about the upcoming record, the British beat-maker revealed that his inspiration came from a quote by iconic punk rock singer, Patti Smith: “We go through life. We Shed our skins. We become ourselves.”
Cultivating a decade-long career in blending techno, UK garage and Caribbean-influenced percussion, ‘Under Tangled Silence’, and its supporting tour, marks the next installment of Djrum’s musical journey. With the soon-to-be fourth studio release incoming, the British turntablist has been making waves since 2013’s debut ‘Seven Lies’ which was well-received by listeners and critics alike. Achieving a milestone dream for many producers, he made his Boiler Room debut appearance in 2019, following the widespread acclaim of his singles ‘Sex’ and ‘Showreel, Pt. 3’ from junior album ‘Portrait with Firewood’, demonstrating the UK DJ’s unique approach to production within the British music scene.
Most recently, Manuel revealed his BBC Radio 6 acoustic playlist which sees the ‘jungle’ artist talk listeners through tracks of his own inspiration, mixing western classical and global traditions of various natures. The hour-long programme is available for listening here.
