The Strumbellas have released their new single, ‘Running Scared (Desert Song)’, which is the second track taken from their upcoming fourth album, ‘Rattlesnakes’. The release comes ahead of the bands forthcoming European tour, which sees the band hitting the road, this March. The band’s album, ‘Rattlesnakes’, is scheduled to be released on the 29th of March 2019.
Speaking about the track, ‘Running Scared’, vocalist Simon Ward, said: “It’s actually the song that inspired the artwork for the album. We love playing it because it makes us feel like we’re in the middle of the desert. This is one of the songs that came together the fastest and the studio was fun because we got to experiment with lots of weird instruments.”
‘Running Scared’ follows the release of their last single ‘Salvation’, which has been playlisted at BBC Radio 2 and is Top 20 in the US, at Alternative radio. The Strumbellas, consisting of Simon Ward, David Ritter, Jeremy Drury, Isabel Ritchie, Jon Hembrey, and Darryl James, have a sound that takes elements from rock, indie, folk and country, to create a unique sound.
With their fourth album, ‘Rattlesnakes’, the band have taken a turn from their previous work, which includes their 2016 third album, ‘Hope’ which featured hit single, ‘Spirits’. In their fourth album, ‘Rattlesnakes’, they take a turn from the previous themes of their albums, such as sadness and sorrow, to make something that is more inspiring and full of optimism.
