Welsh Indie outfit Catfish and the Bottlemen have announced their first-ever headline performance in a stadium for 2025 which will hit two of the UK’s largest venues. The tour will see the band perform to their biggest crowds to-date, which, alongside a raft of upcoming festival headline sets, shows the band riding a wave of popularity.
Following a series of sold-out shows across the UK, US, and Australia in mid-sized venues to round out 2024, the band will next perform live at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on August 1 and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on August 3, 2025. The announcement was teased on Saturday August 17, with the band sharing images of both stadiums on their X/Twitter account. A special fan presale will begin at 10 a.m. BST on August 21, with general ticket sales starting at 10 a.m. BST on August 23.

This tour follows the release of their latest single, “Showtime,” in February, marking their first new music in five years. This comes ahead of the upcoming release of their as-yet unnamed next album to follow 2019’s The Balance, on which frontman Van McCann is currently working. The band also recently announced a special ten-year anniversary reissue of their debut album, “The Balcony,” set to be released on September 13. The reissue will be available in limited edition CD, cassette, and LP formats, featuring six bonus tracks.
The band, often referred to as The Bottlemen for short, formed in Llandudno, Wales, in 2007. They rose to prominence slowly, however, only coming to national attention with their debut album, “The Balcony,” released in 2014. The album featured hit singles such as “Kathleen” and “Cocoon,” which helped establish the band as a significant force in the indie rock scene. Their follow-up albums, “The Ride” (2016) and “The Balance” (2019), continued their success, with both albums charting highly in the UK and earning the band a strong following with their knack for anthemic choruses.
Indeed, reviewers have pointed out that the Bottlemen’s brand of singalong jangle pop makes the band’s jump to stadium venues a predictable progression, with Give It A Spin’s Charlie Wright commenting: “over three albums, the Llandudno four-piece built the perfect indie-rock formula to craft anthems designed to fill massive venues. Frontman Van’s hunger for writing tunes that send crowds into a frenzy was the DNA that flowed into the rest of the band.”
The band’s line-up has seen changes over the years, with frontman Van McCann remaining the constant driving force, leading to a sparser sound on the recent “Showtime” release, which received mixed reviews from critics.
