After their phenomenal set at last weekends highly anticipated Download festival on the Apex Stage on Friday, The Struts have confirmed dates for a UK and European tour under the name of “The Grand Union Tour”. The band will be joined by Alt singer-songwriter Barns Courtney who is co-headlining the shows.
According to Kerrang The Struts are promising their “best show to date” which they announced in an Instagram post earlier today letting fans know they are “excited to announce The Grand Union Tour, kicking off in September!” The rest of the post reads “Join us for co-headline dates across the UK and EU. Tickets and select VIP packages are on sale everywhere starting Friday, 21st June. See you there!”
Their fan base are beyond excited for the their return to europeoan shores however some were quick to notice that Spain was left off of the list of dates. And that isn’t the first time according to fans who flooded the comment section with fans asking “Why do you [The Struts] always leave Spain out of your tours?” And another commenting “And Barcelona? Come on guys we miss youuu.”
Loudersound magazine reported frontman Luke Spiller declaring the quartet “are really looking forward to getting back out… alongside our long-term friend and partner in rock, Barns Courtney…It truly is going to be the hottest ticket in town.” Co-headliner Courtney has opened for artists including “The Who”, “The Libertines”, “Ed Sheeran”, “The Lumineers” and “Tom Odell”. The singer has has currently released two studio albums including his debut “The Attractions of Youth” which hit the shelves in 2017 and “404” which was released two years later in 2019.
The tour will begin Leeds on September 28th and continue on until October 21st hitting 18 different European cities. “The Grand Union Tour” will kick off in the UK and the band will play such as venues such as Manchester’s Albert Hall, Birmingham’s O2 Institute and and wrapping up the UK let off the tour at London’s iconic venue Roundhouse. They will then hit the road in Europe where they will be taking on cities like Paris, Berlin, Milan, Brussels, Copenhagen and many more.
The band have invited Aylesbury’s Barns Courtney along to play alongside them who toured with the band in 2024 for their headline American tour for their fourth studio album, ‘Pretty Vicious” which was released in 2023. The Derby band formed in 2012 and just two years after their formation performed for 80,000 people as the opener for the Rolling Stones in Paris and later for the Foo Fighters in 2018. The group is made up of lead singer Luke Spiller, guitarist Adam Slack, bassist Jed Elliott, and drummer Gethin Davies.
